Elmus Eli Clanton, 84, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Franklin County to Walter and Flarry Clanton. He was a logger for over 20 years and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Services were Sunday, September 7, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Amos and Shane Clanton officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Reita Hall and husband, Danny, of Tupelo, Miss.; four grandchildren, Shane Clanton and wife, Tiffanie, of Vance, Jason Davis and wife, Brandie, and Jessica Jackson and husband, Derek, all of Red Bay, and Shea Scott and husband, Michael, of Hamilton; six great-grandchildren, Anna Clarie Jackson, Jacob Davis, Logan Clanton, Jaycee Davis, Gavin Clanton, and Gretchen Davis; one sister, Nellie Elrod and husband, Charles, of Fulton, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oweda Clanton; son, Larry Clanton; two brothers, Elbert and Gene Clanton; and three sisters, Berma Gist, Willodean Stidham and Ernestine Parker.
Pallbearers were Shane Clanton, Jason Davis, Don Humphries, Darrell Humphries, Chuck Humphries and Derek Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Davis, Logan Clanton and Gavin Clanton.
Visitation was Saturday, September 6, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
