J.F. Scott, 74, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at ECM Hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1939 in Franklin County. and he worked at TVA for 20 years. He was a graduate of Red Bay High School where he played football. He volunteered for the U.S. Army where he served in Korea and was discharged as a Spec 4. He was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church, Hollywood.
Services were held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay. Burial was in Burnout Cemetery, Vina. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Shirley Scott, Vina; two sons, Steven Scott and wife, Regina, and Philip Scott, all of Vina; three grandchildren, Kelly, Allison and Lacey Scott; one brother, Joe Scott and wife, Gen, and one sister, Sue Massey New and husband, Clay.
He was preceded in death by a special brother-in-law, Gary Waylon Massey.
Pallbearers were Joseph Scott, Lee Hacker, Tracy Hovater, Mike Mitchell and Douglas Oliver. Honorary pallbearer was Scotty Raper.
