Glenda Hill Farris, 54, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1960 in Alabama and was a newspaper editor for 17 years working at the Red Bay News and Hartselle Enquirer. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Red Bay.

Services were Saturday, May 17, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay. with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are her husband, Rabon Farris, Red Bay; two sons, Johnathan Tucker and wife, April, Iuka, Miss. and Josh Tucker and wife, Shannon, Atlanta, Ga.; one step-son, Jody Farris and wife, Sheri, Red Bay,; five grandchildren and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Hill and Doris Hardin Hill.

Pallbearers were Larry Smith, Todd Gibson, Bryson Farris, Jerry Scott, Greg Gober and Steve Bostick.

Visitation was Friday, May 16, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, and until service time on Saturday.
