Linda Sullins Strawbridge, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Mantachie, Miss. and was retired as a cafeteria worker for Oscar Meyer. She was a member of Eternal Praise Church in Golden, Miss., jail ministry in Marion County, and was an ordained minister who was very active in church and loved to sing.
Services were Saturday, Mar. 1, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Roger Johnson and Bro. Murlin Johnson officiating. Burial was in Center Star Cemetery, Mantachie.
Survivors are one son, George Strawbridge and wife, Judy, Red Bay; one daughter, MariAn O’Brien and husband, Brian, St. Charles, Ill.; grandchildren, James Paul Strawbridge, Tiffany Renee’ Huisinga and husband, Brent, Joshua Brian Strawbridge and wife, Alyx, KeriAn Scukup and husband, Nicholas and Devin Garrett O’Brien and wife, Grace; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Lineberger, Belmont, Miss., Mickey Argo and husband, Charles, Tupelo, Miss., and Vickey Layfield, Milledgeville, Ga.; one brother, Quitman Sullins, Red Bay, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Strawbridge, a son, James Lester Strawbridge, her parents, James Sullins and Maudie Elizabeth Johnson Sullins and a brother, W.C. Sullins.
Pallbearers were Joshua Strawbridge, James Strawbridge, Devin O’Brien, KeriAn Scukup, Scott Brudnicki and Nicholas Scukup. Honorary pallbearers were Tiffany Huisinga and Dwayne Griggs.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 28, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
