Allen Bohannon pitched a no-hitter as the Tharptown Wildcats shut out the Colbert Heights Wildcats 6-0.

Bohannon, a senior, struck out 13 batters and walked four in the win.

“Allen did a much better job of locating today,” Tharptown coach Griffin Harris said.

“His first couple of starts he was leaving the ball up and getting hit. His velocity was better which led to him hitting his spots more frequently.”

Allen Gaston went two for two with four runs batted in. Kelby Hallmark had two hits and a stolen base.

John Staggs, Shawn Hines and Max Nolen had one hit each.

Tharptown town led 1-0 at the end of two innings. They extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth. The Wildcats put the game away with a four-run fifth inning.

“Allen [Gaston] had two big hits for us tonight and Kelby [Hallmark] made some big defensive stops at critical times for us,” Harris said.

One of Hallmark’s big defensive plays came in the fifth inning where he tracked down an infield fly from shortstop to the second base area and made a diving catch.

“That catch by Kelby saved a run when the score was 2-0,” Harris said. “It killed their momentum.”
