James Walter “J.W.” Thomas, 78, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Thomas was a native of Colbert County, but had lived in this area for the past 63 years. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ, Russellville, and was retired as a meter reader with the City of Russellville Utilities.
The funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Johnny Richardson and Randall Hammock officiated the service.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Grace Johnson Thomas; son, Keith Thomas and wife, Julie; daughter, Cheryl Thomas Ott, all of Russellville; sister, Betty Grant and husband, Scott, Lacey’s Springs, Alabama; grandchildren, Heather Conner and husband, Scott, and Adam Yarbrough and wife, Tiffany.
He was preceded in death by parents, James Everett and Mamie Vandiver Thomas.
