Roger Frelon Motes, 52, Spruce Pine, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He worked in drywall construction.  He was known by everyone and loved by all who knew him.

The visitation was Jan. 4, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral followed with Bro. Jeff Whitten speaking at the service.  Burial was at Blue Springs Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, David Motes, Eric Motes, Derek Motes, Alicia Motes; grandchildren, Kaylee Motes, Keirra Motes, Kami Motes, Zoey Motes, Leon Motes; brothers, Steve Motes, Jimmy Motes; sister, Debra Motes Swindle; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frelon Parrish Motes; mother, Clara Mae Baker Motes; and brother, Donnie Motes.
