Renowned artists coming to Russellville this Friday

Event organizers said tickets are still available for the highly anticipated “What Do You Give a King” Christmas tour featuring renowned Christian music artist Mark Schultz and visual worship artist Brian Keith Daniel.

The event takes place this Friday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at the historic Roxy Theatre in downtown Russellville and is jointly sponsored by 91.3 The FIX, Southside Baptist Church in Russellville, and the Franklin County Times.

Trent Stephenson, who is helping organize the event, said this is something local residents won’t want to miss.

“I think this is going to be a really great thing for the community, especially right around Christmas time,” Stephenson said.

“This was already going to be a phenomenal experience having a famous Christian artist like Mark Schultz coming to the city of Russellville, but having Brian Keith Daniel on board is going to make this event just out of this world.

“I don’t think Russellville has ever had anything quite like this before around the holidays, so I hope everyone will come out for this great event.”

Schultz is a 14-time Dove Award nominee, Dove Award winner, and platinum-selling artist who has touched many people with songs like “He’s My Son,” “Letters From War” and his current album All Things Possible, which features songs like “It is Well,” “I Gave Up,” Love Walked In,” and “Haven’t Met You Yet.”

Daniel has been an artist for many years but he began using his talents as a form of worship in April 2007 and has been touring across the country and even internationally ever since with artists such as Grammy and Tony Award winner Heather Headley, Dove Award winners Michael W. Smith, Mac Powell of Third Day, 33 Miles, Seth Condrey, Calling Levi, Beloved, Marc Ivey, Charles Billingsley, Newsong and many others.

Daniel uses mixed media artwork that starts out as an abstract grouping of colors on a canvas and transforms the colors into a new and inspiring image all during the course of one song.

“Both Mark Schultz and Brian Keith Daniel have made a name for themselves in the Christian community and it’s an honor to have them coming to Franklin County,” Stephenson said.

Stephenson added that the original artwork created by Daniel at the concert would be auctioned off in a silent auction with the proceeds going to benefit the Northwest-Shoals Community College’s Revive Student Ministries.

“Not only is this event going to be entertaining and a blessing for you and your family, but it will also help raise money for a good cause,” Stephenson said.

“We hope a lot of people will show up for this great event.”

Tickets for the concert are on sale at Stephenson Electric Service, The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, LifeWay Christian Bookstore in Florence and all branches of Alabama Central Credit Union. The box office at the Roxy Theatre will also be open all day Friday and tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15. Group rates are available.
