Jerry Wesley Childers, 65, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1947 in Marion County, and was a logger.

Services were Thursday, Dec. 5, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Edgar Lee Childers officiating. Burial was in Old Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hodges.

Survivors are three children, Allan Childers and wife, Ann, Hamilton, Amy Tutor and husband, Joe, Brandon, Miss. and Amanda Thibodeaux and husband, Charles, Natchez, Miss.; six grandchildren – Tayler Childers, Adrienne Tucker, Katey Strandberg, Addyson Tutor, Chase Thibodeaux and Tristen Thibodeaux and two brothers, Billy Joe Childers and wife, Barbara, Vina, and David Childers and wife, Nellie,  Baton Rouge, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carvie Childers and Dollie Nichols Childers, a son, Adam Childers and two brothers, Quinton Childers and Roy Childers.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Childers, Danny Childers, Curtis Childers, Heath Childers and Rodney Childers. Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Kennedy and Timothy Ozbirn.

Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 5, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
