Arvis J.D. Holland, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born Nov. 29, 1931 in Franklin County, and was retired from Tiffin Motor Homes. He was a member of Atwood Baptist Church.
Services were Friday, Dec. 6, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Jerry Edgil and Bro. Nathan Davidson officiating. Burial was in Atwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Hodges.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Gwen Holland, Hodges; two daughters, Linda Mitchell and husband, Roy, Hodges, and Paula Neal and husband, David, Sheffield; four grandchildren, Dusty Mitchell and wife, Aronia, Chasity Butler, Lorrie Hood and Dylan Neal; four great-grandchildren, Abbie Mitchell, Mikala Mitchell, Slate Mitchell and Madalyn Butler; one brother, R.V. Holland and wife Clara, and one sister, Lena Mitchell and husband, Danny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Holland and Edna Creekmore Holland.
Pallbearers were Dusty Mitchell, David Neal, Nathan Davidson, Billy Mitchell, Robert Holland, Belton Johnson and Glen Gober.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 6, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
