Belgreen boys post three wins

The Belgreen Jr. High boys tipped off this years season for Belgreen with both boys teams winning against East Franklin on Oct. 22.

The seventh and eighth grade boys started off with tough defense with Brant Bragwell hitting four three-pointers the first half.

Belgreen pulled away to a comfortable lead then finished strong. Brant Bragwell lead the way with 12 points followed by Mason Bragwell with 11, Seth Taylor with nine, and Payton Scott and Jake Taylor with eight. Belgreen hit nine three-pointers in the game.

The ninth grade boys had a tough, hard-fought win the same night against East Franklin with Chase Hale and Patrick Sykes both hitting late threes to seal the win along with Joseph Welch’s 10-point fourth quarter. Welch finished with 18 followed by Chase Hale with 11.Belgreen won 46 – 37.

The Belgreen seventh and eighth grade boys played county rival Phil Campbell on Oct. 24 with Belgreen pulling out a tough defensive effort to pull away in the third after Brant Bragwell and Jake Taylor both hit threes to get them running.

Belgreen closed out a 42 – 20 win.

Mason Bragwell finished with 15 followed by Payton Scott with 8.
