Steve Reeps, 76, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at his home.

He lived his entire life in Franklin County. He was a 1957 graduate of Russellville High School where he was on the basketball and baseball teams. He loved Alabama football and watching his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed playing golf and a good pool game with his buddies. He never missed a class get together or reunion. He also served in the National Guard. He was a member of IBEW Local 558 and retired from Reynolds Metal Company as a crane operator.

Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with Charlie James officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Nell Thompson Reeps; sons, Mark Reeps and wife, Donna, Mike Reeps; grandchildren, Tanner Reeps, Taylor Reeps, Marki Reeps; great grandson, Braxton Reeps; brother, Bobby Glen Reeps and wife,  Penney, California; sisters, Bernice Barnes, Tuscumbia, Mary Jane Hargett, Muscle Shoals, Martha Davis, Russellville, Elizabeth Reeps, Russellville.

Pallbearers were Fred Pilgrim, Gerald Jackson, John Vandiver, Tom Vandiver, Bryan Davis, Bruce Davis, Phillip Fretwell, Brice McNatt. Honorary bearers were J. D. Robinson, Johnny Taylor and Richie Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Marie Reeps; brother, Billy Joe Reeps.
