William “Bill” Hovater, 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at his home.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Russellville,  and served in the United States Navy.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. John McCullar and Dr. Betty Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Turner Hovater ; daughters, Cathy Hill and husband, Tom, of Huntsville, and Tina Smith and husband, Steven, of Phil Campbell; sister, Marcie Bowling, of Muscle Shoals; brother, John Hovater and wife, Vickie, of Florence; brother in law, Paul Pate, of Tuscumbia; three step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Delmar and Elizabeth Ann Beckwith Hovater; sisters, Brenda Wallace and Virginia Pate.
The family expresses a special thank you to Hospice of the Shoals, Gentiva Home Health Care, Shoals Pharmacy, Dr. Gualteri and his staff and Tennesse Valley Pain Consultants.
