Raymond Lee Burcham, Sr., 70, Russellville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Shoals Hospital.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a truck driver.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating at the service was Rev. John Barton. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his sons, Raymond Lee Burcham, Jr., and wife, Lanette, Thomas William Burcham and wife, Tracey; grandchildren, Benjamin “Benji” Burcham, Alex Burcham, Whitney Elizabeth Burcham; brothers, Arnold Burcham, William Burcham and wife, Tereasa; sisters, Dorothy Abbott and husband, Virshel, Fayrene Thornton and husband, Randy; brother-in-law, Paul Chambers and wife, Linda; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Chambers Burcham; parents, Garvin and  Earline Burcham.

Pallbearers were David Burcham, Chris Herring, “Little Buck” Chambers, Aaron Welch, Chris Kinard and Willie Clemons. Honorary pallbearers were Benji Burcham, Whitney Burcham and Alex Burcham.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Shoals Hospital ER & ICU, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and Spry Memorial Chapel for the love and prayers, as well as for the food brought to the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society, 104 S. Poplar Street, Florence, AL 35630.
