Hazel “Jo” Montgomery, 93, Muscle Shoals, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Cypress Cove Nursing and Rehab.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Charlie James officiating.  Burial was in Tharptown Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Montgomery; parents, James and Nancy Warhurst; 10 brothers and sisters, Carrie Hall, Sue Fisher, Ruth Aycock, Edith Whitlock, Opal Daniel, Curtis, Dave, Jim, Charlie, and Coleman Warhurst; and son-in-law, Kenneth Sockwell.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Sockwell; grandsons, Ken Sockwell and his wife, Kristi,  Mark Sockwell and his wife, Kristie; great-grandchildren, Trey Sockwell, Caroline Sockwell; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers were Charles Fisher, Jerry Aycock, Erick Boyd, Brian Lindsey, Dewayne Warhurst and Keith Rose.  The honorary pallbearers were Frank Seay, Owen Warhurst, Billy Aycock, Tommy Warhurst, Percy Daniel, Jr., and Jackie Warhurst.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Cypress Cove Nursing and Rehab Center and the staff of the Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care.

She was a loving mother, and grandmother, and will be missed by all.
