Police seach for man who robbed Sonic

Police are looking for information that will lead to the arrest of the man who robbed the Russellville Sonic at knifepoint late Friday night.

Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said the suspect approached a Sonic employee as he was leaving the building about 12:30 a.m. and put a knife to the employee’s throat.

Hargett said the man forced the employee back in the building where he demanded money.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the business, the man left without injuring anyone.

Hargett said the suspect is described as being a black man with a height of 6’4” and weighing about 250 to 280 pounds.

A link to the video surveillance of the robbery is posted on the Russellville Police Department Facebook page. Anyone who has information about this crime is urged to call the RPD at 256-332-2230.
