FUMC hosting block party

First United Methodist Church in downtown Russellville will have a Block Party this Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Washington Street behind the church.

The street will be blocked off to allow room for games, prizes, inflatables, music and food, all at no cost to the public.

There will be a pie eating contest at 6 p.m. but spots are limited, so come early to register. Prizes will be awarded.

The purpose of the Block Party is to collect copy paper, dry erase markers, Germ-X and paper towels for the local schools. An area will be set up to drop off the school supplies and everyone who comes is urged to bring something to support the schools. Everything collected will be divided equally among the schools in the area.
