Stella Louise Bowling, 86, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Bowling was a native of Kansas City, Mo., and lived in Tucson, Ariz., before moving to Russellville. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Russellville. She was a retired LPN having worked for Dr. Wayne Reynolds.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Russellville.  Officiating at the service will be Father Jim Hedderman.  Interment will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nevon Bowling; son, Tim Bowling; parents, Clyde and Ellen Taylor, Sr., brother, Clyde A. Taylor, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Amelia Nell Hillis.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary A. Bowling, of Russellville, Ala., Kaye Hillis and husband, Preston, of Florence, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Alma Bowling, of Russellville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jeff Bowling and wife, Nancy, of Russellville, Ala., Patrick Hillis and wife, Mary Elizabeth, of Decatur, Ala., Robbie Hillis and wife, Misty, of Birmingham, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Mary Kate Hillis, Mac Hillis, Ben Hillis; sister, Catherine George, of Tucson, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Taylor, of Flint, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Jack Dugan, Garry Bowling, David Bowling, Don Bowling, Mark Newton, Rhuel Holland, Dale Montgomery, and Densel Martin.  The honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dante Gapultos, Dr. Conrad Castillo and Dr. Ed Santiago.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lyman Mitchell, Jr., Dr. Therese Lango, Dr. Hermant Patel, Dr. Felix Morris, AlaCare Hospice; caregivers, Sara Peppers, Amy Williams, and Jean Douglas.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be missed by all.
