Martha (Dot) Grant Atkins, 79, Russellville, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, at Russellville Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Clint Busler, Bro. Willis Vickery, and Bro. Bo Lloyd. Entombment will be at Franklin Memory Mausoleum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. (Jack) Atkins; parents, Daniel Lee and Mary McCulloch Grant; brothers, Daniel Lee Grant, Jr., Howard Cawthon Grant; sisters, Alice Harrison, Louise Whitfield, Sue Williams, Mary Grant and Mable Weatherford.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Atkins Porter and her husband, Joe; son, John Grant Atkins and his wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Daniel Porter, Anna Carol Porter, John Atkins, David Atkins; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Daniel Porter, Anna Carol Porter, John Atkins, David Atkins, Jerry McCollister, Victor Cox, Jr., and Tim Ross. The honorary pallbearers will be Carl Blackburn, Joe Wilson, Carl Jackson, Brent Jackson and Jamie South.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205-7010 or to the Community Help Fund c/o First United Methodist Church, 311 Jackson Avenue, Russellville, AL 35653.
