Edward Thornton Welborn, 86, of Hackleburg, Ala. passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Russellville Hospital.
He was a member of the Masons, Spruce Pine Lodge #608, member of The American Legion, and was a WWII veteran.
The visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pelham Thornton and Maggie Welborn; and son, Gerald Welborn.
He is survived by his step-daughters, Judy Gober, Linda McLeod, Wanda Britnell; step-son, Anthony Gardner, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
