Nople P. Garrison, 87, of Red Bay, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born May 16, 1923 in Franklin County, Ala. to James and Lena Bell Humphries McCalpin. She was retired from the Red Bay Nursing Home as a cook. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala. with Bro. Tom Scott and Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
She is survived by five children, Janet Wright and husband, James, Danny Garrison and wife, Linda and Cindy Mayo, all of Red Bay, Ala., Wanda Fitts, of Russellville, Ala. and Stevie Garrison, of Vina, Ala.; three brothers, Harlie McCalpin, Bobby Joe McCalpin and James McCalpin, all of Red Bay, Ala.; one sister, Helen Pierce, of Red Bay, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glover Garrison; granddaughter, Belinda Long; two brothers, Kenneth McCalpin and J.P. McCalpin; and one sister, Grace Armstrong.
Pallbearers were Josh Garrison, Mark Blunt, Ben Blunt, Richard Blanton, John Blanton and Ethan Blanton.
