Three injured in ambulance crash

MOULTON – Three men were injured late Friday night when a local ambulance collided with a car at the intersection of Alabama 24 and Alabama 157 in Moulton, authorities said.

According to reports, a NorthStar ambulance driven by Christopher Watkins of Russellville was transporting 18-year-old Dillon Busboom of Hamilton to Huntsville Hospital about 11 p.m. Friday.

NorthStar EMS local operations manager Jeremy Glenn said Watkins attempted to cross the intersection of Alabama 24 and Alabama 157 when a Honda Civic struck the ambulance on the back passenger side.

According to reports, the force of the impact caused the ambulance to spin and roll over on its side.

Glenn said both Watkins and paramedic Max Williams of Killen, who was a passenger in the ambulance, stayed with Busboom until other emergency services could arrive on the scene.

According to authorities, all three men were treated at Huntsville Hospital and were discharged.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Misty Stricklin, 34, of Moulton, was not injured and refused treatment at the scene, Glenn said.

Authorities said the ambulance had both its lights and sirens on at the time the wreck occurred.

Glenn said due to company policy, the wreck is still under investigation by NorthStar EMS.
