Sammy Steven “Bodie” Oliver

Sammy Steven “Bodie” Oliver, 50, of Hodges, passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at his residence.

The visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.  Officiating at the service will be Bro. Jerry Lawler.  Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nub and Mavis Oliver; and brother, Wayne Oliver.

He is survived by his sisters, Lyndia Underwood and husband, Tracy, Sandra Coan and husband, Joey; nieces, Angie Oliver, Amanda Scott and husband, Michael, Chanda Chandler and husband, Eric, Tessa Burroughs and husband, Anthony; nephews, Barry Oliver, Jeremy Hargett and wife, Brooke; and sister-in-law, Kathy Oliver Grissom.

The pallbearers will be David Petree, Marty Pinkard, James Scott, Jason Oliver, John T. Oliver, and Michael Scott.  Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Oliver, Don Oliver, Gary Foster, Alan Oliver and Tim Oliver.

A special thanks to all the friends and family who loved and cared for our brother, Bodie.
