Red Bay welcomes Sheffield
RED BAY — The Red Bay football team opens its 2010 campaign Friday night when it hosts Sheffield.
Sheffield is coming off a 1-9 season in 2009, but the Bulldogs return several experienced players. Nine starters return on offense while six starters return on defense.
Red Bay also returns several starters including junior quarterback Hunter Childers, who will begin his second season under center.
The Tigers have revamped their defensive scheme. Sheffield averaged less than 16 points per game last season.
This will be the third meeting between these two programs. Sheffield is 2-0 in the previous games.
