Team Impact to visit Calvary

Unbelievable demonstrations of strength will be on display this upcoming week as the evangelistic power group Team Impact spreads the gospel at Calvary Baptist Church in Russellville.

Calvary pastor Dr. Wade Wallace said this will be the second time the team has visited their facilities and hopefully the turnout for the event will be more of the same if not more.

“I believe last year over 75 people came to Christ through their ministry,” he said. “There will be three members of the team instead of two coming this time which will result in more demonstrations and activities for people to enjoy watching.”

Team Impact’s purpose is to partner with local churches to reach individual communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ, to serve the local pastor and build the local church.

The ministering group was founded in the Year 2000 from a desire and passion to reach the lost, build the church and see lives changed.

In the ten years that followed, God has opened doors for ministry in over 1500 events around the world in churches and communities large and small, urban and rural.

With the unique privilege of speaking in public schools, Team Impact motivates and inspires over 500,000 students each year.

The message of encouragement and truth is so important for this generation that is misguided and misled in today’s sight and sound society.

“They come highly recommended from people I trust,” Wade said. “I believe they just have a unique way of spreading the gospel through their abilities. The last time they came it was awesome and I expect them to draw a crowd and win over souls for Christ through their demonstrations and stories.”

Calvary’s associate pastor Neal Rogers has been in contact with members from the team and believes their message is one that sparks a lot of interest.

“Each church that hosts one of their performances tend to keep asking the team to come back and I believe them coming back here will bring many children and adults who want to see what they can do,” he said. “And by them doing some unbelievable stunts and putting that together with spreading the gospel it saves souls.”

Rogers said the three team members that will be at the event include 10-year veteran of the team Greg Lewis, former rescue swimmer in the United States Navy Shonn Keels and former University of Georgia football player C.J. Arocha.

Team Impact will be at Calvary Baptist Church located at 16241 U.S. 43 in Russellville on Sunday, Aug. 22- Tuesday, Aug. 24 with shows starting at 7 p.m. inside the sanctuary.
