Voters made right choices for Franklin County
Citizens in Franklin County should be happy about the results of a pair issues on Tuesday’s ballot as the two measures will help keep the quality of life in the area as it is.
Almost 54 percent of those voting elected to keep the one-cent sales tax in place to help fund local schools, which have been hit hard by proration in recent years.
The big winner with this vote is our children, who will continue to receive quality educations without having to suffer as many cuts to the education budgets.
The other major vote was the biosolid issue, which was defeated by nearly 6,000 votes.
Voters took time to become familiar with the amendment and its tricky wording to send a clear message that Franklin County does not want to use treated human waste as fertilizer.
Faced with two important issues, the voters of Franklin County responded by choosing the best options for the future of the county.
