    Thelma Boyd Fuller

    Thelma Boyd Fuller, 77, of Russellville passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Russellville Hospital after an extended illness.
    Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Russellville with Bro. Johnny Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Burma Boyd; brothers, Hazel Boyd, Maynard Boyd; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Willard Hovater.
    She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George H. Fuller; son, George “Jeff” Fuller and wife, Leslie; daughter, Julie Gargis and husband, David; grandchildren, David Isaac Gargis, Evan Gargis, Partrick Gargis and Cody Fuller; nine nieces and nephews; and fourteen great-nieces and nephews.
    The pallbearers were David Isaac Gargis, Evan Gargis, Patrick Gargis, Cody Fuller, Milton Boyd and Roger Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were Willard C. Hovater, Tim Boyd and Jimmy Boyd.
    She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. She worked briefly as a pharmacy clerk, but spent most of her life as a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kelly, Russellville Hospital ICU nurses and Russellville Health Care for the love and care shown to our family.
    Evelyn Rose Frederick

    Evelyn Rose Frederick, 43, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at her residence.
    The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Blue Springs Church with Bro. Steve Neugent officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Spring Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Frederick; father, James Homer Mann; and grandparents.
    She is survived by her son, Michael Heath Frederick and wife, Sonya; daughters, Renee Wright and husband, Chris, Jennifer Frederick, and Emily Marion and husband, Phillip; mother, Maggie Hamm; brothers, James Mann and wife, Pam, William Mann and wife, Sandra; best friend, Mary Hubbard; eight grandchildren; three nieces; and four nephews.
    Pallbearers will be Dustin, Hunter, Michael, Jason, Justin, Joey, Phillip and Brian.
    Lillie Mae Frances Taylor

    Lillie Mae Frances Taylor, 94, of Birmingham, formerly of Spruce Pine, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at her residence.
    Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerome Sherrill officiating. Burial was at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Taylor; parents, Murrow and Frankie Isom; brother, Millard Isom; and sister, Beatrice Isom.
    She is survived by her children, Wyvonne Babb and husband, John, Travis Taylor and wife, Linda, and Betty Taylor; grandchildren, Kimberley Watson, Trena Johnsey, and Beth Babb; great-grandchildren, Allison Watson, Natalie Johnsey, Alexa Johnsey, and Jacob Babb; several nieces and nephews.

    Shirley Ann Thornton, 68, of Russellville passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. Jones, Sr. and Lillian Jones; sons, Kevin David Thornton and Duane Scott Thornton.
    She is survived by her husband, Tom Thornton; daughter, Melanie King and husband, Robert, Jr.; brother, E.C. Jones, Jr. and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Brandon Aycock and Dylan Pounders; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers were Brandon Aycock, Dylan Pounders, Mikey Allison, Darby Allison, Robert Sledge, II, Jimmy Thornton, Matthew Smith and Andrew Thornton. Honorary pallbearers were Tye Daley, Trent Daley, Trever Allison and Justin Thornton.

    Alice Faye Wellington, 64, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Russellville Hospital.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bobby Stancil officiating. Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Helen Hargett; brothers, William Hugh Hargett and Robert Bobby Hargett; sisters, Ruby Johnson and Madrue Jackson.
    She is survived by her husband, Orvil Wellington; children, Tammie Snodgrass and husband, Mark, Michael Wellington and wife, Shelly, Bo Wellington and wife, Sharon, and Billy Wellington and wife, Angie; brother, Fred Hargett; niece, Carolyn Wellington, who was like a sister; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers were Bobby Drew Martin, Eddie Wilson, Mike Hill, Tony Landers, Gary Rowsey, Benji Harman, Brandon Suggs and Raymond Randolph.
    Donald Reuben Sumner

    Donald Reuben Sumner, 84, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Jerry Pounders and Pat Murray officiating. Burial was at Winston Memorial Cemetery.
    He is survived by his wife, Telitha L. Cagle Sumner; children, Cynthia P. Sumner Davis and Donald W. Sumner; sister, Alpha A. Sumner Cobb; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben O. and Victoria Sumner; and brother, Orbie L. Sumner.
    Margot Evi Robison
    February 4, 2010
    Margot Evi Robison, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital.
    Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roger Bond officiating. Burial was at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar D. Robison, Jr.
    She is survived by her daughters, Diana Wilson and husband, Brent, and Gene Taylor and her husband, Barney; grandchildren, Shannon Wilson and wife, Emily, Christopher Taylor, Shane Wilson and wife, Christine, and Matthew Taylor and wife, Chaleyna; great-grandchildren, Michael Franklin, Dakota Taylor, Samuel Wilson, Kesslie Cameron, Olivia Rose Taylor, Sarah Kate Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
    Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Robison, Jerry Lindsey, J.D. Robinson and Eddie Robinson.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lynn Ridgeway, Dr. Jerry Williams and their staffs for their love and care to our family. Also, a special thanks is extended to our special nurse, Jennie Petree.
    Bennie Robinson

    Bennie Lee Robinson, 80, of Red Bay passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at ECM Hospital. He was born May 31, 1929 in Alabama to Sebe and Alma Wright Robinson. He was a carpenter and was retired from Chicago Original Carpenters Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and attended Cornerstone Church of God in Red Bay.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Glenn and Bro. Micah Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery.
    He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Robinson, of Red Bay; three sons, Greg Robinson and wife, Donna, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., David Robinson and wife, Brenda, of Round Lake, Ill., Richard Robinson and wife, Dawn, of Brookfield, Wis.; two step-children, Karen Martin and husband, Charlie, of Aroma Park, Ill. and Kathy Jenkins, of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Earlene Robinson, of Russellville and Nancy Robinson, of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Bryce, Coleman, Ed, Buren, Hardy and Grady Robinson; and sister, Ethel Collum.
    Pallbearers were Phillip Underwood, Eucellis Underwood, Tommy Brooks, James Neil Thompson, David Ivy and Jerald Sparks.
    Grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.
    James “Oak” Welch
    February 6, 2010
    James "Oak" Welch, 53, of Phil Campbell, Ala., died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 following an extended illness.
    He was born on Nov. 6, 1956 in Clayton, Ga. He attended St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Phil Campbell and was a retired computer technician in the information technology industry.
    Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home in Demorest, Ga. with the Rev. Glenn Parrish officiating. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

    He was preceded in death by his father, James Odell Welch.
    He is survived by his mother, Edith M. Welch, of Alto, Ga.; his sister, Sharon Chambers Drake, of Alto, Ga.; his brothers, Ed Fitzgerald, of Charlotte, N.C. and Glenn Fitzgerald, of Covington, Ga.
    Myrtle Etoyle Bailey
    February 8, 2010
    Myrtle Etoyle Bailey, 77, of Tuscumbia passed away on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at Russellville Hospital.
    She was a faithful member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was active in the ministry up until the time of her death. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
    The visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 in the chapel with Mark Trangsrud officiating. Burial will follow at Shoals Memorial Gardens.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Taskle Bailey; twin sister, Martha Evon; and grandson, Greg Seal.
    She is survived by sons, Bobby Bailey, Billy Bailey, David Bailey and wife, Eileen, Dale Bailey and wife, Cathy; daughters, Martha Thomas Ingram and husband, Wayne, and Kathy Seal; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two half-sisters; one half-brother; and several nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers will be Brad Thomas, Blake Thomas, Chris Seal, Barry Seal, Kevin Manning, Paul Dietz, Joshua Bailey and Garrison Seal.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Country Cottage and to the Tuscumbia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the love and care shown to our family.
