Representatives from the Russellville Electric Board will be paying a visit to each home in the city.
The department is working on a citywide mapping program that would use a global positioning system to track the locations of all meters and poles within the board's service area.
To complete the project, employees with the board will have to visit each site.
"We will be in everyone's yard at some point over the next couple of months," said Russellville electric board manager Steve Defoor.
All employees will be wearing a Russellville Electric Board uniform or vest.
Defoor said that no employees would need to enter a home.
"We have already been down U.S. 43 and the Underwood Road area," Defoor said.
"We just want the public to be aware of what we are doing.
"Everyone working with us will be wearing electric board uniforms and will be in trucks with our electric board logo."
