Golden Tigers seek to avoid sluggish play against Butler

Russellville's game against Lee last week was not what fans were expecting when they made the trip to Huntsville to watch the No.-2 ranked Golden Tigers open the region schedule.
Russellville won 42-6, but miscues on offense and a few defensive lapses prevented the game from becoming the blowout many fans expected.
The Golden Tigers will try to put that performance behind them this week as they prepare for their first home game of the season against Butler.
The Rebels are 0-2 so far this season, with both losses coming in blowout fashion. They lost the season opener 43-0 to Grissom and lost the region opener against East Limestone 44-14.
Since moving to Class 5A, Region 8 following the 2007 season, Butler has won only one region game.
Russellville pounded the Rebels last year, cruising to an easy 49-0 victory.
It will be the final tune-up game for the Golden Tigers before they have to travel to Hartselle next week.
The game against Butler begins at 7 p.m.
