PC turns attention to Tanner

PHIL CAMPBELL – New Phil Campbell coach Bo Culver likes where his team is heading even if they did lose their first game of the season last week.
He said that although execution was lacking at times, the team played hard until the final seconds ticked off the clock.
"I think last week the effort was there for four quarters," Culver said. "I'm going to take that loss on me. We got inside the five twice and didn't score. That's my fault."
This week things will be a little tougher for the Bobcats as they travel to Limestone County to take on Tanner in the region opener.
The Rattlers are ranked second in Class 2A and return several key starters on offense.
Dominique Randolph returns at quarterback and top receiving threat Marquise McDonald is also back.
Trey Cosby, an All-State running back for the Rattlers in 2008, also returns.
Ten players from last year's team return for the Rattlers, but 2A Lineman of the Year Amos Draper graduated, leaving a big void along the defensive line.
"Any time play a team that is athletic and is coached well, it will be tough," Culver said. "We are not fearing that jersey. We are approaching that game feeling like we have a chance to win."
The game will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Tanner.
