    Alfred L. Landers

    Alfred Leon Landers, 82, of Russellville, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at his residence.
    Funeral services were held at Akins Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 with William Bonee and Glen Mayfield officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    Pallbearers were Larry Kimbrough, Jeff Kimbrough, Scott Cantrell, Cody Bowen, Jared Prince, Bartlett Kimbrough, Chris Hill and Jimmy Carlisle. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Kimbrough, Justin Kimbrough and Austin Jenkins.
    He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edith Davis Landers; son, James Carlisle; parents, Willie and Maudie DeVaney Landers; brothers, Rayburn Landers, William Roy Landers; sister, Beatrice Landers.
    He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Kay Cantrell and husband, Sam, of Russellville, Sue Kimbrough and husband, Benny, of Moulton; daughter-in-law, Cathy Carlisle, of Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Carline Landers and Sue Landers both of Russellville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
    He was a member of the Church of Nazarene.

    Janet Patricia Goodwin Prince, 59, of Russellville, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. Interment was in the Littleville Methodist Church Cemetery in Needmore.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Gertrude Markham Hogan; her brother, Calvin Hogan.
    She is survived by her husband, Hoyt Prince; children, Sue Thors and her husband, Andres, of Birmingham; Valerie Collins and her husband, Aaron, of Phil Campbell; Anthony Goodwin and his wife, Sandra, of Decatur; step-children, Michelle Gilgallon and her husband, Mark; Patricia Diane Langford and her husband, Johnny; Connie Sue Dean and her husband, Edward; grandchildren, Heather Elizabeth Pate, Casey Logan Goodwin; 18 step-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Cole and her husband, Artis, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Faye Arnold and her husband, Odell, of Haleyville; brother, Horis Hogan and his wife, Vernell, of Haleyville; numerous nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Prince was a caregiver and will be missed by all.

    Elsie Vivian Smith, 88, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at ECM Hospital.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ed Bragwell officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Smith; parents, Garfield and Maggie Virginia Handley; brothers, L.G. Handley, Allen Handley, Clifford Handley; sisters, Zelma Whitten, Linnie Liles, Sylvia Melton and Opal Nadine Handley.
    She is survived by her children, Virginia Skidmore and her husband, Charles; William Smith and his wife, Areeda; and David Smith, all of Russellville; half-siblings, Grace Pate and her husband, Jim; Nadine Hayes and her husband, Ronald; Jack Handley and his wife, Mary; Kathy Martin and her husband, Rick, all of Florence; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Archie L. Caldwell

    Archie Lee Caldwell, 64, of Red Bay, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Red Bay Hospital.
    He was retired from Ameritech Telephone Co. in Columbus, Ohio, and had worked for Page Chevrolet for three years. He was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church and, a Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
    Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Mark McCraney officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
    He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Caldwell, of Red Bay; two daughters, Jessica Lehr and her husband, John, and Jina Caldwell, all of Columbus, Ohio; step-son, Bert Bostick and his wife, Katie, of Red Bay; one sister, Nell Ezzell and her husband, Kenneth, of Ashland City, Tenn., and three grandchildren, Cameron Lehr, MacKenzie Lehr and B.J. Caldwell.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Osie Cox Caldwell; two brothers, Jack Caldwell and McRae Caldwell.
    Pallbearers were Gary "Sluggo" Page, Jimmy Lovette, Johnny Berry, Ken Lindsey, Terry Barksdale and Thurl Engle. Honorary pallbearers were J.M. Page, Ross White, Eugene Dunlevy and Charles Montgomery.
    Norma S. Harris

    Norma Sue Harris, 74, of Belmont, Miss., died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Booneville, Miss.
    She was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Itawamba County, Miss., to H.A. and Jewel Williams Grissom. She worked as a seamstress for 30 years.
    Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Deaton Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Cooley officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery.
    She is survived by two daughters, Debra Childers and her husband, Jeffrey, of Savannah, Tenn., and Sheri Barnett and her husband, Allen, of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; one son, Jason Harris and his wife, Shelia, of Belmont, Miss.; one step-daughter, Sylvia Harris, of Fairview, Miss.; two sisters, Nedra Daws, of Gainesville, Ga., and Wanda Hamm and her husband, Tilmon, of Red Bay; five grandchildren, Robin Deatherage and her husband, Gary; Eric Massey and his wife, Amy; Jeffrey Childers II and his wife, Patricia; Ethan Harris and Emily Harris; three great-grandchildren, Carter Deatherage, Kevin Childers and Isaiah Reese Deatherage; numerous step grand and great-grand children.
    Family members will be pallbearers.

    Magdalene Vinson Page, 89, of Red Bay, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Red Bay Hospital.
    She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Franklin County to Washington Oscar and Dessie Reid Vinson. She was a homemaker and a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star and Halltown Homemakers Club. She enjoyed playing golf.
    Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Deaton Funeral Home with Bro. Mark McCraney and Bro. Phillip Vinson officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery.
    She is survived by one son, Alec Page and his wife, Friedel, of Red Bay; two daughters, Mary Ellen Collum and her husband, Joel, of Red Bay; Judy Hayes, of McDonough, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Joel Collum, Jr., and his wife, Barbara; Jim Collum and his wife, Cyndi; Rhonda Condrey and her husband, Jerry; Wanda Berry and her husband, Joe; Scott Fuqua and his wife, Laurie; Sean Paul Hayes and his wife, Tami; Holly Cole and her husband, Clinton; and Jonathan Hill; 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and special caregiver, Linda Pounders, of Red Bay.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Page, and a daughter, Jimmie Irene Page.
    Pallbearers were Joel Collum, Jr., Jim Collum, Jerry Condrey, Joe Berry, Sean Paul Hayes and Scott Fuqua. Honorary pallbearers were Horace Morrow, James Carlton Rudd, Jonathan Hill and Matthew Collum.

    Randle Wayne Williams, Sr., 40, of Booneville, Miss., formerly of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
    Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Brian Scott officiating. Interment was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.
    He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and one grandmother.
    He is survived by his father and step-mother, Garlin and Lynn Williams; mother and step-dad, Meathel and Gene Franks; mother of his children, Pam Winstead; children, Marlena Mather and her husband, Troy, of Phil Campbell; Randle Williams, Jr., of Phil Campbell; Tiffany Williams and her husband, Corey, of Booneville, Miss.; Tabitha Williams, of Phil Campbell; Collyn Williams, of Phil Campbell; Kaylie Williams, of Phil Campbell; brothers, Basil Williams, Stanley Williams, Phillip Williams, Bradley Williams, Richard Williams; sister, Cynthia Williams; grandmother, Javel Hall; three grandchildren, Landon, Lucas and Courtney; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers were Nathan Williams, Daniel Williams, Junior Williams, John Sheffield, Doug Hallman and Corey Huddleston.
    Richard Jeske

    Richard Jeske, 79, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital.
    He was a native of New York, lived most of his life in Ohio, but for the past six years in Franklin County.
    A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home with Bro. Dwain Satterwhite officiating.
    Survivors include his wife, Mildred Richardson Jeske, of Russellville; children, Robin Beverly Jeske and her husband, Alex, of Fiser, Ohio; Rita Marie Jeske and her husband, Walter, of Wincek, Ohio; Darlene Susan Carmona, of St. George, Utah; Richard Jeske, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio; Matthew David Jeske, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Dominique Jeske, Stephen Jeske, Richie Jeske, Matthew Jeske, Alex Fiser, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eleanor Jeske.

    Lisa Carol Baker Wilson, 43, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at her residence.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home with Sis. Carolyn Baker officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, William Baker and Linda Ritchie; brother, Randy Baker.
    She is survived by her husband, Johnny Burns Wilson; brother, Jarrett Baker and wife, Paula; sisters, Pam Murray and Kim Bailey and husband, Jeff; nieces and nephews, Kayla Bailey, Summer Baker, Cory Murray and Kody Caldwell.
