Willie Sue Hodge

Willie Sue Hodge, 77, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Florence Nursing Home.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Terry Bendall officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Malverta Fowler; husband, Clarence H. Hodge; brother, Henry Fowler; sisters, Shelly Oliver, Bonnie Oliver, Lois McCarley, Hazel Nix and Mavis Oliver.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn Hodge and wife, Ann, and Michael Hodge and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Jenni Hodge, Mariah Hodge and Clay Hodge; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Hirman Hodge, Wayne Oliver, Jason Oliver, Don Oliver, Matthew King and Jack Wellman.
Ida "Bon" Gravitt

Ida "Bon" Gravitt, 86, of Bear Creek, Ala. passed away July, 27, 2009 at Rose Manor Assisted Living in Haleyville, Ala. She was a member of Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held July 30, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with George Jones officiating. Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Gravitt and wife, Barbara and Bonnie Turner; grandchildren, Jennifer Wooten and Yolanda Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Keith Jent, Whitley Hunter, Trey Wooten, Alayna Wooten and Noah Kennedy; sister, Pauline Pfaff; brother-in-law, Franklin "Hank" Gravitt and wife, Gail; sisters-in-law, Oneita Hagan, Inez Elkins, Sue Gravitt, Louise Gravitt and Hattie Mae Hagan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Bell Hagan; husband, Loyd Gravitt; brothers and sisters, Bill Hagan, Roy Hagan, Travis Hagan, Grace Dugger and Imogene Boshell.
Lawrence Ellenburg

Lawrence Ellenburg, 77, of Phil Campbell passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Formed Tubes and he was a Baptist.
Funeral services were held July 29, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Bobby Joe Poss officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Mays Ellenburg; children, Mike Ellenburg and wife, Cathy and Greg Ellenburg and wife, Rhonda; sister, Doris June Yarbrough; brother, Leon Ellenburg; grandchildren, Josh Ellenburg and wife, Holly, Ryanne Ellenburg, John Ellenburg and David Ellenburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dora Ellenburg and sister, Lois Ellenburg.
Pallbearers were David Ellenburg, Josh Ellenburg, Oscar Romo, Barry Yarbrough, Jonathan Yarbrough and Carlos Romo. , John Ellenburg and David Ellenburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dora Ellenburg and sister, Lois Ellenburg.
Pallbearers were David Ellenburg, Josh Ellenburg, Oscar Romo, Barry Yarbrough, Jonathan Yarbrough and Carlos Romo.
Honorary pallbearers were John Ellenburg, Billy Mays, Roy Farris, Eudon Mays and Victor Bailey.
Lowell Bryan Harris

Lowell Bryan Harris, 82, Russellville, Ala. passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his residence after a six year battle with lung cancer.
He was a veteran who served as a medic in the 55th Station Hospital in Foggia, Italy. He was a charter member of the Centerview Church of Christ where he served as an elder.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Brother Cecil Cox officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in East Franklin.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise Harris, of Russellville; daughter Kathy Hester and husband, Billy, of Russellville; son, Terry Harris and wife, Allison, of Florence; brothers, Orbie Harris and wife, Polly, of Fairburn, Ga.; Jack Harris and wife, Edna, of Waterloo; sister, Pauline Boyles, of Russellville; grandchildren, Mark Hester, of Florence; Mike Hester and wife, Lisa, of Tuscumbia, Lea Easely and husband, Cai, of Jackson, Miss., Beth Pride Harris, of Florence and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gene Hester, Jimmy Sparks, Bob Rickard, Greg Hovater, Shane Harris, Gerald Ricketts.
Honorary bearers were Ed Vandiver, McCoy Harris, Ronald Prince, Randy Bracken.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Lena Harris; sons, Wayne Bryan and Tommy Harris; brothers, Athel, Reble and Ira Harris and sister, Carolyn Bracken.
Jacqueline Pennington

Jacqueline Pennington, 55, of Spruce Pine, Ala., died Monday, July 27, 2009.
Ms. Pennington was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a self-employed farmer. She was a member of Heritage Fellowship Baptist Church in Russellville.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with Roger Martin officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10 a.m., until 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
Survivors include children Jennifer Nelson and husband, Benji, of Russellville, Aron Bentley, of Littleville, Julie Nix and husband, Brent, of Spruce Pine; mother, Alice Ann Pennington; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Martin, Linda Goines, Terry Hendrixon, Johnny Pennington, Michael Pennington, Danny Pennington, Richard Pennington, Scott Pennington; grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Austin Nelson, Skyler Nelson, Christian Nelson, Lorie Nix, Logan Nix, Bailey Nix; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lois Coleman Pennington;
Jacqueline loved her church and her church family.

Nettie Irene Lindsey

Nettie Irene Lindsey, 91, of Russellville, Ala. went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 29, 2009. She was a member of Believer's Assembly Church in Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Jim Lumpkin and Bro. Mark Daniel officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crooked Oak Cemetery with her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lou Tharp; husband, Allen Lindsey; son, Bobby Lindsey; daughter, Patricia Ann Boykin; grandchildren, Donnie Lindsey, Lillian Lindsey and James Allen Lindsey.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Judy Kilpatrick and husband, Thomas; son, James Ray Lindsey; daughter, Sheila Ford and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Denise Cox, Diane Murray, Junior Boykin, Tracy Meyer, Wade Kilpatrick, Angela Akers; great-grandchildren, Justin Boykin, Jessica Caldwell, Misty Kilpatrick, Matthew Kilpatrick, Patrick Akers, Hannah Akers; great-great-grandchild, Shawn Kilpatrick.
Pallbearers will be, Junior Boykin, Wade Kilpatrick, Matthew Kilpatrick, Patrick Akers, Randy Johnson and Thomas Kilpatrick.
Special thanks to Fred Ford and Thomas Kilpatrick who kept things going day to day. Our dear friends, Delores Denton, Ann Hill, Cindy Regan, Bro. Jim Lumpkin, Amy Hudson, Heather King and everyone who called, visited and prayed for our family. Ms. Lindsey also had a great group of people who took care of her and the family would like to thank, Southern Rural Healthcare, Hospice of North Alabama, Southern Care Hospice and Russellville Hospital 2nd floor nursing staff.
Ms. Lindsey was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family, and she devoted her life to them. She was a prayer warrior and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
