RB council hires new police officer

RED BAY – The Red Bay City Council voted to hire a new police officer during the regular council meeting held Monday night.
The council members hired Justin Perry of Red Bay as the new police officer after a two-month search process.
"We are very pleased with the committee's hard work in this process," Mayor Bobby Forsythe said.
Perry began work Tuesday, and will be preparing to go to the police academy in the coming weeks.
In other business, Fire Chief Bud Strickland announced that the fire department has approximately 80 weather radios that need to be distributed. Anyone interested in getting a weather radio should call city hall at 356-4474.
