PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell football team is putting the finishing touches on new coach Michael Parker's first season.
Parker has already guided the Bobcats to one victory this season – more than they had last year – and is hoping his team can earn a few more before the regular season ends on Halloween.
The Bobcats will try to put another victory in the win column tonight as they host a homecoming contest against Hatton.
Hatton is fighting for a playoff spot in the region, but Phil Campbell can put a big dent in those hopes with a win against the Hornets.
Hatton is 4-3 overall, but only 2-3 in region play. A loss to the Bobcats would likely eliminate the Hornets from the playoffs as they play third-ranked Tanner next week.
The Bobcat offense, which has struggled at times this season, will have to perform at its best to knock off the Hornets.
Hatton is giving up 25.7 points per game. The Bobcats are averaging only 18.3 points, but have cracked the 25 point mark twice.
Phil Campbell is giving up 29.3 points while the Hornet offense is scoring 30.4, but have been held below that average three times.
While a loss to Phil Campbell would be devastating to the Hornets, it could propel the Bobcats to a strong finish.
They complete their region schedule next week at Westminster Christian Academy – a team that has not won a region game.
