The Franklin County sentencing docket was cleared up this week as Circuit Judge Terry Dempsey gave sentences in several cases.
District Attorney Joey Rushing said Ronnie Paul Pounders, who was convicted of child abuse in August, received a five-year suspended sentence with three years probation.
Sandy Huckabee, who was convicted on two counts of possession of controlled substance, received a 15-year split prison sentence.
"Ms. Huckabee will serve three years of her sentence through the Franklin County Community Corrections, and probation for the remainder of her sentence," Rushing said. "She was also given credit for one year in jail she has served."
Christina Oliver, who was convicted of second-degree possession of forged instrument, was given a 20 year split sentence with four years to serve in prison. After the four years are served in prison, Oliver will be placed on probation for the remainder of her sentence.
Jeffery Wade Wright, who was convicted of leaving the scene of an accident, was given six years in prison and probation was denied in this case.
"We are happy that Mr. Wright was given a stiff sentence," Rushing said. "He left the scene of an accident where serious injuries had occurred to a child. We asked that probation not be granted, and we are pleased with the decision to deny his probation request."
