Tharptown, Red Bay host;

All five Franklin County football teams will be in acton tonight as the 2007 season kicks off for most high schools in Alabama.
Class 5A, Region 8 champion Russelllville will open on the road at Deshler in a a non-region rival game that has typically produced close games such as last year's 28-20 win for the Golden Tigers.
The Red Bay Tigers, fresh off a five-touchdown performance last Friday in its jamboree game against Belmont (Miss.), will host 1A Shoals Christian, which features a dangerous passing attack in a non-regional matchup.
Tharptown will host Vina tonight and celebrate the opening of its new stadium and first home game in school history. Vina won the first-ever meeting between the two schools last year.
Phil Campbell will be at 4A Haleyville tonight to open its season and will return home next week to host county rival Red Bay in an important Class 2A, Region 8 matchup.
