Employee Spotlight

By Staff
Kim West
Name: Lynda Mayfield
Occupation/Employer: Assistant, The Wagon Wheel
Birthday: January 12
Hometown/High School: Russellville
Family: Parents (deceased) Elder Jack Porter and Marie Porter and one brother and sister
FCT: What do you like most about your job?
Mayfield: It's the customers. We sell to different people with different needs, and they're all friends. Some of them we've seen go from being in high school to being married and having kids to becoming grandmothers.
FCT: Where do you like to shop?
Mayfield: Frankly, I don't shop for clothes outside this store because we have everything here that I want. When we buy clothes, we pick for people we know, which comes from knowing your customers.
FCT: Why do you enjoy living in Franklin County?
Mayfield: The people – I know a lot of them, or I'm related to them. North Alabama is a real friendly place and people are nurturing.
FCT: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Mayfield: I like to visit and socialize with friends. We like to go out to eat sometimes.
FCT: If money wasn't an issue, where would you take your friends out to dinner in this area?
Mayfield: I eat locally at Taylor's sometimes. I really enjoy Frank's and Rosie's, because I like Italian and Mexican food. Frank's has the best cheese lasagna you'll ever taste.
FCT:What is your favorite fashion show or magazine?
Mayfield: I look at everything, but I like the fashion shows they have on the morning shows, and I always get Woman's World because it's a lot like getting a monthly newspaper because it has all kinds of information in it.
FCT: What is the first thing you would say if someone asked you for fashion advice?
Mayfield: Your clothes should fit good, look good, be in a becoming color to you and feel good. That works very well for an interview suit when you want to present yourself right.
