Bernice Gerlene Wade Kirby

Bernice Gerlene Wade Kirby, age 74, of Hackleburg, passed away Monday, December 25, 2006.
Mrs. Kirby went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilkins Kirby; her parents, Monie and Ila Annie Belle Swinney Wade; three brothers, Eugene, Jerry and Olen Wade; and a sister, Vernie Mae Sparks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Potts officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Knott and husband Billy, of Hackleburg, and Belinda Creamer of Tampa, FL; a brother, Larry Wade and wife Wanda, of Russellville; two sisters, Nell Williams and husband Samuel, of Birmingham, and Emily McWilliams and husband Landon, of Gadsden; three grandchildren, Christopher Knott of Hackleburg, Allen Knott and wife Tammi, of Hackleburg, and Allison McPhillips of Destin, FL; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Colin Knott and Maryln Morgan Knott; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Marie McKinney

Evelyn Marie McKinney, age 72, of Russellville, passed away Monday, December 25, 2006, in Cullman.
Mrs. McKinney was a native of Colbert County but had lived in Franklin County for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was retired from AT&T as an operator supervisor. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. McKinney; and a brother, Eugene Bolton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Jim Poss officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Montgomery, Brad Bolton, Mark King, Jonathan King, Casey King and John Sexton.
Mrs. McKinney is survived by a daughter, Janice Gray and husband Mike, of Cullman; two brothers, Billy Bolton of Red Bay and Oneal Bolton of Russellville; a sister, Elsie Fleming of Coloma, Michigan; and two grandchildren, Megan Ray and Joshua Ray.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Jimmy Lane Phillips
December 21, 2006
Jimmy Lane Phillips, age 67, of Bear Creek, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2006.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Alma Barr Phillips; two sisters, Adell Williams and Arnell Phillips; and two brothers, Harold Phillips and Jackie Phillips.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Frank Chaney and Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment was in Bear Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Barbara Phillips; a son, Michael James Phillips of Bear Creek; a daughter, Kimberly Lane Huey and husband Vann, of Birmingham; a sister, Jean Flanagan of Haleyville; and two grandchildren, Amy Huey and Jessie Huey.
In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Phillips High School Scholarship Fund, Bear Creek, AL, or to Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Bear Creek, AL.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Bobby Ray Smith
December 23, 2006
Bobby Ray Smith, age 53, of Nauvoo, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sharon Clark; three daughters, Shallan Smith, Shelia Hall and Belinda Justice; three sons, Andy Smith and wife Leshia, Justin Smith, and John Clark and wife Tara; five sisters, Lou Carter, Voncile Howard, Dean Baily and husband W.L., Joann Duncan and husband Danny, and Rosa Ray and husband Jimmy; a brother, John L. Smith and wife Glenda; and ten grandchildren.
Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper assisted the family.
