Man arrested for soliciting sex

A Russellville man was arrested Thursday and accused of asking a juvenile for a sex act in exchange for money.
Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Bobby Burcham, 77, of 2003 Jackson Avenue North in Russellville, was arrested and charged with prostitution, or soliciting a person for a sex act in exchange for money, harassment, and indecent exposure.
All the charges are misdemeanors that carry a potential one-year jail sentence upon conviction.
Hargett said Burcham is accused of offering to pay a juvenile victim $50 for a sex act.
The victim, Hargett said, pushed past Burcham and ran out of the restroom, where he reported the act to store employees. Store employees called the Russellville Police, and warrants were obtained for Burcham's arrest.
RPD Investigator Capt. David Hester, who worked the case, said police suspect there may be other instances in which Burcham exhibited similar behavior.
Any other potential victims are urged to contact the Russellville Police Department at 332-2230.
