Good luck to hoops teams in postseason play

By Staff
The 2004-05 basketball season is nearing its end, but we still have a handful of teams in Franklin County fighting to keep their hoop dreams alive.
On Thursday night, varsity girls teams from Russellville, Red Bay and Belgreen took the floor for sub-region games in hopes of advancing to next week's Northwest Regional Tourney at Wallace State in Hanceville. Be sure to check out Sunday's sports page for complete coverage of those games.
Tonight features varsity boys sub-region action with the Red Bay Tigers hosting Lexington and the Phil Campbell Bobcats traveling to take on Tanner. We would like to wish the best of luck to both teams, and we hope to see you headed down to Wallace State next week!
Results from tonight's boys games will also be in Sunday's sports section.
Also, please be careful if you are traveling to either one of the games involving Franklin County teams tonight. Go out and support our teams and cheer them on to Hanceville!
Even though the season is still going on for a few teams in Franklin County, we want to congratulate all the basketball teams at every level of play in Franklin County for an outstanding 2004-05 season. Kudos to all the coaches, players, cheerleaders, sponsors, fans and administrators who helped make this season an overwhelming success.
Again, good luck to the Red Bay and Phil Campbell boys as they prepare for tonight's games. Here's hoping Franklin County is well-represented at Wallace State next week!
