Three men were arrested on drug charges Saturday in Franklin County, two resulting from a driver's license checkpoint.
A spokesman for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department said Cassidy King, 27, of 1670 Franklin 60, was arrested Saturday and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
Investigators said a tip led to obtaining a search warrant of King's residence. When the residence was searched, deputies found approximately three grams of "ice," or crystal methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. King is being held in the Franklin County jail pending violation of his community corrections status.
Two men were arrested in an unrelated case after going through a checkpoint at the intersection of Waterloo Road and Cave Hollow Road in Russellville. The checkpoint was monitored by the sheriff's department and Russellville police.
Arrested were Jerramie Clint Henderson, 24, Heather Row Apartments, 211, Florence, on charges of second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and Tobias Edward McKay, 20, of 312 Duncan Drive in Russellville, on charges of possession of alcohol and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Authorities searched the suspects' vehicle and found alcohol, a small amount of marijuana and hydrocodone pills.
In an unrelated case, investigators said a Hodges woman appeared before a federal magistrate Monday after being indicted by a federal grand jury.
Rietta Renee McCarley, 42, of 325 Hodges Lake Road in Hodges, was arrested on March 24, 2004, and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree receiving stolen property, second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators said she was indicted by a federal grand jury Feb. 2 on the charge of a drug user in possession of a firearm.
During a search of her house and business at the time of her arrest, law enforcement officers found 30 firearms, approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and a motorcycle reported stolen from Walker County.
Officials said McCarley lives at the Marion-Franklin county line in Marion County and maintains a medical supply company in Hodges.
