Graveside services for Richard F. Willis were held Friday at 1 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. John Jacob officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Willis, 86, formerly of Wetumpka, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, in Quitman. He was a member of Shoal Baptist Church in Alabama.
Survivors include his daughter, Rita McDuffee and her husband, Jimmy, of Meridian; a daughter-in-law, Kay Barr; a sister, Ida May Pruett; 18 nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Sollie Willis; a son, Johnny Barr; six brothers and two sisters; and his parents, Andrew and Sarah Willis.
Pallbearers will be Brad Alexander, Kyle Alexander, Jim McDuffee, Stacy Barr, Brandon Barr and Keith Alexander.
Services for the Rev. Wiley Amerson Sr., will be held today at noon at St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church in Porterville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Amerson, 88, of Illinois, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Amerson of Mound, Ill., and Rosie Barge of St. Louis; four sons, Wiley Amerson Jr. of Chicago, Jonas Amerson of Meridian, William Amerson of Mound, and George Amerson of Riverdale, Ill.; two brothers, William Amerson of Meridian and Jack Amerson of Porterville; 49 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Retired
PHILADELPHIA Services for Jean Mason Jones will be held today at 1 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Mann officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mrs. Jones, 90, of Union, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at St. Dominic memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was a retired office manager for the Carthage Corporation.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Morton of D'Lo; and Steve Jones of Brandon; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lessie Jones.
UNION Services for Georgie Ann Bender will be held today at 2 p.m. at Rosie Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosie Hill Cemetery. Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bender, 104, of Illinois, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Azzie Lee Slaughter of Union; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 46 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Douglas McArthur Wright will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bogueloosa Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Bogueloosa Cemetery near Needham. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wright, 62, of Waveland, Miss., died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a daughter, Destiny Wright Pinion of Augusta, Ga.; four sons, Douglas McArthur Wright Jr., Jonathan Eugene Wright and Christopher Dale Wright, all of Augusta, and Justin Wright of Waveland; six grandchildren; five sisters, Marian Stephens of Augusta, and Marlene McBride, Juanita Wright, Elaine Dixon and Cheryl Wright, all of Mobile; a brother Bruce Wright, of Mobile; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Eli Wright; and his parents, Eli and Gracie Wright.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Construction worker, painter
BUTLER, Ala. Services for David "Bryant" Bozeman will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial will be in Marvin Cemetery in Toxey.
Mr. Bozeman, 35, of Toxey, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, in Alabama.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Mazingo of Gainestown; his father, Dave Bozeman; a son, C.J. Jenkins of Faunsdale; a brother, Clark Bozeman of Slidell, La.; his maternal grandmother, Emma Lou Means; his maternal grandfather, Milton Mazingo; and a brother, Joey Bozeman of Union.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
BILOXI Services for Audra Mowdy York will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
Mrs. York, 80, of Biloxi, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, in Biloxi. She was a native of Meridian and was a resident of the Coast most of her life. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Biloxi and the Sunkist Garden Club. She loved to garden and spend time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Miller of Ocean Springs and Mike Miller of Gulfport; a daughter, Karen Sue Miller Werth of Gulfport; a brother, Johnnie Harold Mowdy of Biloxi; a sister, Reba Lundy of Long Beach; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. York; her parents, Johnnie and Cora Mittie Lang Mowdy, and brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Sadie Burt, 92, of Meridian, who died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
