Enterprise wins third straight

ENTERPRISE The Enterprise Bulldogs opened Division 7-2A action on Friday night at L.J. Davis Field and walked away with a 33-16 win over the Bay Springs Bulldogs.

Enterprise ended the night with 298 yards of total offense and sophomore tailback Curtis Latney was the highlight on offense for Enterprise.
Latney finished the night with 21 carries for 102 yards and four touchdowns. Enterprise (4-2, 1-0) opened its scoring with 6:42 left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead over Bay Springs (1-5, 0-1). Latney
scored his first touchdown of the night from six yards out and Wade Weathers added the extra point to give Enterprise a seven-point lead.
Enterprise extended its lead at the beginning of the second quarter to make the score 14-0 with 8:20 left until halftime. Latney scored for the second time on a nine-yard run to give Enterprise the two-touchdown edge over Bay Springs. Enterprise punched the ball in the end zone one final time before the end of the first half to take a 20-0 lead into the
locker room.
Latney did the honors once again for the third time in the half on a three-yard run to give Enterprise the 20-point lead after a missed extra point from Weathers. Enterprise opened the second with much of the same story to take a 27-0 lead with 8:25 left in the third quarter. Latney added his final score of the night from five yards out to extend the lead for the home Bulldogs.
Enterprise put one final touchdown on the board with 3:59 left in the third quarter to make the score 33-0 after a blocked extra point by the visiting Bulldogs. Weathers connected with Scott Mosley for a 43-yard strike to give Enterprise the 33-0 lead.
Bay Springs avoided the shutout with a pair of scores in the final three minutes of the third quarter.
Cameron Woullard connected with Shamus McCullum on a 47-yard touchdown pass with 2:56 left in the third quarter to cut the lead to 33-8 after a successful two-point conversion.
Woullard found McCullum once again for another touchdown pass from 17 yards out to make the score 33-16 and Enterprise shut Bay Springs out from that point for the win.
Marquez Goodloe and George Irby each collected an interception for the Enterprise defense which held Bay Springs to no first downs in the first quarter.
