MAGNOLIA, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held at Pleasant Hill AME Church on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
QUITMAN Cooper's Chapel Church will host a conference on the family Sept. 15-18. Topics include: "The Fight for the Family," "How to Win?" "Authority: Biblical Relevance of Family," "Raising Children in Today's Society," "Responsibility of Fathers: As Leaders of the Home" and "God's Word on Sex."
Speakers will be the Rev. Jeff Switzer of Sandtown United Methodist Church and the Rev. Tim Thompson of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Special music will highlight each service. Sept. 14-17 services will begin at 7 p.m. The Sept. 18 service will begin with lunch at 1 p.m., followed by special music at 3 p.m., a presentation by Thompson at 4 p.m., a program of special music at 6 p.m. and a presentation by Switzer at 7 p.m.
Registration is $10. For a form or information, call (601) 776-6659 or (601) 776-1493. A nursery will be provided for children 6 and under. Activities also are planned for children and youth 6 and older. The church is on Highway 511, three miles east of Quitman.
My Brother's Keeper men's ministry of the Freedom Rock Christian Fellowship Church will host the conference "Men of Integrity 2004," Sept. 16-18 at 7 p.m. each evening. "Men Taking Their Place In The Kingdom" is the theme. Registration will begin at 5:45 p.m. A lecture session on Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. will be conducted by the Rev. Craig Tucker of Freedom Rock. Registration will be from 8 a.m.-8:45 a.m. Lunch will be provided.
CLARKDALE Jones Chapel Church of God will launch its "40 Days of Purpose" campaign on Sept. 18. Based on the best-selling book "The Purpose Driven Life," the crusade will focus on the truths about God's five purposes for people: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism.
DECATUR A love shower honoring Louise Johnson, District 2 missionary, is scheduled for Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Murray Chapel Church of God In Christ. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Sammie J. Everett of Lake City, Fla., daughter of the honoree.
STONEWALL Stonewall United Methodist Church annual all-day homecoming on Sept. 19. The day will start at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts. The Rev. Gerald Chaney will be guest speaker for 11 a.m. worship service. A covered dish luncheon will begin at noon, followed by an afternoon of fellowship and singing featuring adults and children. An expansion dedication for Trinity Lutheran Church, Highway 39 North, is slated for Sept. 19 at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. A reception and open house will follow, from noon to 2 p.m. For more information, call the church office at (601) 483-5457.
New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Savoy, 2nd Annual Men's Day is Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Nehemiah Matthews of Okatibbee Baptist Church. "Getting Men Back Into the Church" is the theme. Men are asked to dress in black.
