50th anniversary
Oliver and Iva Lou Savell will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of New Bethel Baptist Church. The church is 12 miles west of Philadelphia on Highway 488. The Savells were married on Aug. 8, 1954. Mrs. Savell is the former Iva Lou Shoemaker. They have a son, Andy Savell and his wife, Cynthia. The couple requests no gifts.
50th anniversary
Carl and Wavelene Crenshaw will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, with a reception from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, hosted by their daughter. The Crenshaws were married in Greenville, S.C., before moving to Meridian. They have a daughter, Pamela Allen and her husband, Andy, and two granddaughters. Mr. Crenshaw is employed by Bartlett
Castors and Mrs. Crenshaw is employed by Wal-Mart on Highway 19 North. Mr. Crenshaw served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Dickey Clay Manufacturing Co. and Souls before working at Bartlett Castors, Inc. The couple requests no gifts.
50th anniversary
The Rev. &Mrs Andrew L. Chesney of Union, recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a surprise anniversary party with their immediate family by their son and daughter-in-law. The couple were married on July 8, 1954 in Union. The couple have a son, Tim Chesney and his wife, Melanie, of the House Community and grandchildren, A.J. Chesney of Oxford and Monica Chesney of the House Community.
