Enterprise gets plenty of support for its athletics

There's no doubt that the folks in Enterprise love their high school sports and their school.
Win or lose, the community always packs the stands on Friday nights during the fall as they support the Enterprise High School Bulldog football team, and the interest is similar for the softball, baseball and basketball teams.
Weathers said academics come first at the school. Enterprise has been rated a Level 5 school.
The Bulldog sports teams have enjoyed success, too. The baseball team won the State 2A championship last spring. The football team made it to the third round of the state playoffs, and the softball team made it to the South State finals in slow-pitch last season.
The Enterprise school system has tried to keep its facilities current. Work was focused on the football field this past summer as a sprinkler system was installed and new grass was planted. New lighting was installed a few years ago. Enterprise fans will notice that the playing field area has been moved some to give more space on the visitor' side.
Weathers said a new concession stand is in the planning stages for the baseball field. In recent years, the school has built new softball and baseball fields, a new field house and renovated the gym.
Joel Speed is in his second year as the head football coach. He is assisted by Eddy Pierce, Marlon Brannan and Jeremy Wilkins.
Mark Davis is the head coach for boys basketball, and Tommy Perkins heads the girls basketball team. Brannan is the assistant coach on the boys team.
Kacie Luebbers is the head coach for the slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball teams. Pierce is the assistant coach for the fast-pitch team, and Perkins assists with the slow-pitch team.
Wilkins is the head baseball coach, and he is assisted by Davis. Perkins coaches the golf team.
