LaTisha Curry and Jerome Brown, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mattie C. Gordon, Larry Cole, Marzella Brown and the late Charles Meredith, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mildred Sanford and the late Louise Mesley Sr., and Steven Cole and the late Johnnie Mae Cole.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are George Townsend, Arvella Murrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Meredith.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Cassandra Hall, Lenora Mesley and Wilbur Sims, vocalists; and Shelia Walker, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory satin gown traced with beige trimmings. The bodice featured an off the shoulder V-shaped neckline embellished with pearl beading. Her veil was anchored by a beaded pearl headpiece and she carried a bouquet of purple and lilac roses.
Ashley S. Curry of Grambling, La., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Other attendants were MaShanda Adams and Lenora Mesley, aunt of the bride, both of Meridian, LaTasha Gibbs of Jackson, Bridgett McCoy and Dana Murrell of Meridian, cousin of the bridegroom.
Angel Hopson served as junior bride and La'Tia Shaffer of Meridian was flower girl.
Onterrio Brown of Meridian served his brother as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were O'Daun Charles Gordon, brother of the bride, Johnny Neely, cousin of the bridegroom, Louis Mesley Jr., uncle of the bride, Kelby Stennis and Ollie Brown, brother of the bridegroom, all of Meridian. De'Vonte Brown of Meridian, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Bubble blowers were Jhamir Adams, Timesha Anderson, Aliesha Houston, Montreze Moore, LaQuintis Mesley, cousin of the bride, and Alana Murrell, cousin of the bridegroom. Program attendants were Tanzanekia Adams and Takiyah Boyd of Meridian.
A reception was held at the Velma Young Center following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Betty Hawkins, Janice Moore, Crystal Turner, Rita Pegues and Jennifer Murrell, all of Meridian.
