    Obituaries for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004

    He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 79 and the Disabled American Veterans.
    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Virginia McMullen of Meridian; sons, Marshall McMullen Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Charleston, W.Va., and Gerald McMullen of Meridian; a grandson, Patrick McMullen of Charleston; a sister, Evelyn Sauls of Marion; brothers, Ray McMullen and his wife, Louise, Pressley McMullen and his wife, Evelyn, and Carmen McMullen and his wife, Ruth, all of Meridian; several nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers will be Nate McMullen, Jerry Creel, Jerry McMullen, Doyle Thornton, Paul Harper and Raymond Harper.
    Visitation will be Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Maggie Hollingsworth will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Charles Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.
    Mrs. Hollingsworth, 87, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Peebles of Philadelphia; sons, Shelby Hollingsworth of New Tazewell, Tenn., and Johnny Hollingsworth of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Hollingsworth.
    Visitation will be today 3 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Retired supervisor for city of Meridian
    Services for Herman Adams will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vance Williams officiating.
    Mr. Adams, 88, of Meridian, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include his daughters, Jo Ann Hooper and Irma Washington, both of Milwaukee, and Mable Ruth Trussell of Coffeeville, Kan.; and a son, Larry Adams of Yuba, Calif.
    Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    DEKALB Services for Cora Mae Young will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with he Rev. Robert E. Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Young, 101, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include her daughters, Cora C. Sharp of Detroit, Alberta Irby and Bobbie Ward, both of Meridian; sons, E.L. Morris Young and his wife, Angeline, of Meridian; 27 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great-grandchildren and six great-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Burns of Meridian; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband and two children.
    Visitation will be Friday 1 p.m.-7 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian.
    Services for Billy C. Hursey III will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Golden Grove Cemetery.
    Infant Hursey of Meridian, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Brown and his father, Billy C. Hursey Jr.; a sister, Taleiah Kintara Jones, all of Meridian; a brother, Kristoff S. Charles Hursey of Conyers, Ga.; his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.
    Umatilla High School custodian
    UMATILLA, Fla. Services for Romona Faye Kreeger will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Duffee. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Beyers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Kreeger, 54, of Okahumpka, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, in Okahumpka.
    Survivors include her husband, Franklin "Lucky" Kreeger of Okahumpka; children, Nicki and Mark Lee, Lauria and Tanner Guess, Brandon and Lori Rogers, all Umatilla, and Robin and Doug Brown of Eustis, Fla.; her father, Ozell Alexander of Little Rock, Miss.; sisters, Wilda Rigdon of Little Rock, Debbie Messer and Syretha McCall, both of Umatilla; brothers, J.B. Alexander, Carlton Alexander,and James Alexander, all of Little Rock, Kenneth Alexander of Leesburg, Fla., and Terry Alexander of Umatilla; and seven grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alexander; and a sister, Barbara.
    Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
    Retired licensed practical nurse
    Services for Christine Dukes will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Centeridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Lorenzo Carter and Glenn Hall officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery in Pachuta. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Dukes, 69, of Augusta, Ga., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
    Survivors include a brother, Gilbert Dansby of Pachuta; daughters, Westine Dukes Crawley of Augusta, Grace Bender of Meridian, Addie Jones and Lodean Anderson, both of Quitman; a son, Linley Dukes of Freemont, Ohio; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Visitation will be Friday 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
