    Obituaries for Monday, Dec. 1, 2003

    Retired
    Services for Julius Edward "Red" Allen will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jason Cross and Jack Giles officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Allen, 81, of Collinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was born in Lepenta, Ark., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. and served in World War II.
    He was a deacon and lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved gospel music and sang beautiful bass until shortly before his death. Mr. Allen's gentle and humble manner endeared him to many in his community and extended family. His life was a quiet tribute to his unshakable Christian faith.
    Survivors include his wife, Janese Salter Allen of Collinsville; children, Dave E. Allen and his wife, Vera, of Anchorage, Alaska, Bonnie Ruth Allen of Meridian, Tony K. Allen and his wife, Jorja, and Amy L. Roddie and her husband, Joe, all of Collinsville; sisters, Dorothy Gough, Marjorie Thrash and Marilyn Duett; a brother, Howard Allen; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be John Watson, Harold Akin, Pete Denton, Doyle Alawine, Donald Deen, Ramson Gough, Randall Palmer and Lewis Ray Smith.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    MACON Services for James Curtis "Jimmy" Triplett will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Zgarba and Olin Hutchins officiating. Burial will be Brown Cemetery near Brooksville.
    Mr. Triplett, 85, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. and served in World War II. After World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force
    Survivors include his daughters, Jamie Ruth Pitts of Jackson, Margaret Loren Stribling of Pearl and Marcia Robin DiSilvestro of Walnut Grove, Ill.; sons, Joseph Cameron Triplett Sr. of Brooksville and Dr. Laramie Curtis Triplett of Abbington, Va.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Nell Todd of St. Cloud, Fla.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Brown Triplett.
    Memorials may be made to Brown Cemetery Fund in care of Mildred Randall of Brooksville.
    Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    DEMOPOLIS, Ala. Services for Elizabeth Bell Stegall will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Emelle Community Church with the Revs. Paul A. Duffy, Dr. Karl K. Stegall and David Joe Lee officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Stegall, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003. She was a native of Aliceville, Ala., and valedictorian of her graduating class at Aliceville High School in 1922. She studied at Livingston Normal School, the University of Alabama, Vanderbilt University and the University of Chicago. She became a certified teacher at the age of 15 and became the teaching principal of Emelle Junior High School at the age of 19.
    Following her marriage to Frank Stegall, she assisted her husband in the operation of a service station and cattle farm for many years. She also was a clerk in the Emelle Post Office.
    Following Mr. Stegall's death in 1969, she worked extensively in genealogical research, serving state, county and local groups, as well as hundreds of individuals across the United States. She also worked during this time as recording clerk in the Sumter County Probate Office.
    For more than 65 years, Mrs. Stegall was an active member of the Emelle Community Church where she served for many years as a teacher of the adult Sunday school class.
    Survivors include her sons, Col. Joseph F. Stegall (Retired) and his wife, Eleanor, of Demopolis, Dr. Hugh H. Stegall and his wife, Carole, of Tuscaloosa, Sgt. Maj. John S. Stegall (Retired) and his wife, Nell, of Cuba, and Dr. Karl K. Stegall and his wife, Brenda, of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stegall; and a son, Dan Stegall.
    Memorials may be made to Emelle Community Church, 164 Ramsey Lane, Emelle, AL 35459 or a charity of choice.
    Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
    Truck driver
    QUITMAN Services for Henry Ford Williams will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Living Word Church with the Revs. Lou E. Hoffman and Jerry Mills officiating. Burial will be in Archusa Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Williams, 76, of Quitman, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Marion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
    Survivors include his wife, Opal Frances Williams of Quitman; sons, James Guant of Russell, Henry Lamar Williams of North Carolina, Randy G. Williams and Mike F. Williams, both of Quitman, and Roy Dale Williams of Meridian; daughters, Sarah Henry of Heidelberg, Teresa June Thornton of Fruitdale, Ala., and Neena Gale Mosley of Laurel; a sister, Nellie Page of Waynesboro; brothers, Julous Williams of Waynesboro, J.W. Williams of Florence and Bobby Williams of Lubbock, Texas; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the church.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Rex Warning of Stonewall, who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in his home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Louise Hicks, 71, of Meridian, who died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
