Bulldogs coach is less than optimistic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. If Rick Stansbury likes his chances of winning the SEC West division, he's not telling anyone.
The Mississippi State head coach sounded almost pessimistic about his team's chances after losing several key players to graduation and the NBA draft.
When informed that at least one major publication predicts his Bulldogs to take the SEC West, Stansbury was nothing short of shocked.
The reporter who posed the question later handed Stansbury a college basketball preview published by The Sporting News, causing the Bulldogs head coach to end his assessment of division rival LSU in mid-sentence.
Tic Tac for Tubby
As could be expected, the most popular head coach at Media Day was Kentucky coach Tubby Smith. The defending National Coach of the Year was constantly surrounded for over an hour by reporters asking about everything from basketball to breakfasts.
At the end of the session, a reporter from the Cincinnati Post sitting next to Smith arose and offered the Wildcats coach a breath mint.

Florida head coach Billy Donovan, a noted fitness guru, has a cure for all his players' aches and pains a nice, relaxing dip into the cooling tank.
Donovan said that once or twice a week, his players will submerge their bodies for 12 minutes in a tub of frigid water. The Gators coach said the exposure basically shocks the body back to normal and can cure nagging muscle strains.
An age gone by
Apparently, Rod Barnes has not played video games in a long time.
The Ole Miss head coach is hoping to help his Rebels rebound from a 14-15 season a year ago, and blamed past troubles on a lack of team chemistry.
Now, Barnes said, the team is more one unit than a group of several smaller cliques.
Tecmo Bowl was a football video game released for the original 8-bit Nintendo in 1989.
